Responsible Consumption Fair

Date: from 20 to 31 December

For the second time in a row, Plaza Cataluña will be the setting for the Responsible Consumption and Social and Solidarity Economy Fair this Christmas. In this fair there are several activities that aim to raise awareness of responsible consumption.

This gastronomic market is located in the southern area of Plaza Cataluña during the first days of December, it is worth the delight to taste its culinary variety. Despite having few stalls in this place, the variety and quality of the mis unmatched. With the possibility of tasting several cheeses, jams, sweets and some others ausage.

Children’s Festival / City of Dreams

Date: 27 to 30 December 2019 and 2 to 4 January 2020.

Timetable: from 10h to 20h.

One of the activities most awaited by child renis the Children’s Festival, which is being renewed this year. The City of Dreams is a space dedicated mainly to children from 0 to 12 years old. One could say that it is the paradise of children’s activities. Here the children will have a great time doing work shops, handicrafts, games, etc.  We are sure that both children and adults will be able to enjoy a pleasant time with their families.

One of the Christmas delicacies not to be missed at Christmas is a delicious hot chocolate with churros. In Barcelona there are several cafeterias where the taste of Christmas can be tasted. Visit the factory of the Three Wise Men of the East

In these holidays their Majesties Melchior, Gaspar and Baltasar strive to respond to the thousands of letters from children  that reach them. So that the little ones can appreciate the work that all this entails and can also deliver these letters directly, in Barcelona we can goto the Factory of the Kings of the East. There is a Magic Post Office with a direct line to the factory where the toys are made. At the end of the tour you can see the ware house where the dreams of hundreds of thousands of children all over the world are kept. The factory is located in Sant Adrià street, number 20. The Institute of Culture of Barcelona takes to the streets

Plaza de Cataluña will host the intense programme of the ICUB for these festivities. All kinds of animations and events for young and old, with sports activities, urban arts workshops, circus and many other events. Hours from 11 am to 6 pm and shows until 9 pm. More information here and twitter.

Let’s all sing Christmas carols

L’Auditori hosts a concert that promises to be the most fun: the QuartetMèlt!, a group that has become famous in Catalonia after winning a choir competition, want to get us all singing Christmas carols, big and small. It will be held on December 29, two performances for children from five years old, website, twitter and Facebook.

Very sporting New Year’s Eve.

On December 31st at 5.30 p.m. the startisgivento the Nassos race, a traditional race that runs through the city. 10 kilometres of route and a very supportive face, as it is usual to have a space to collect second-hand sports equipment that is intended for children and young people with few resources to enjoy sports.
